This high rate of production reduces overall operational costs. In addition, the equipment is highly productive requiring significantly less man power. For example, a plant with three drum or barrel corrugators to produce 40,000 tons of GP sheets requires 14 operators.

Furthermore, there is a huge benefit in terms of quality. The sinusoidal profile generated by the corrugation machine is geometrically true to size, absolutely symmetrical and dent and mark free. This translates into excellent load bearing properties for the roofing. Furthermore, aesthetically the finished products look very attractive. Drum corrugated sheets tend to assume either a convex or concave shape, in contrast, roll formed sheets are totally flat.

Lastly, a huge advantage is the corrosion resistance of the finished product. The forming process is completely smooth and does not leave any scratches or scraping of the zinc coating on the corrugated material. This is very in contrast to drum corrugation, which causes numerous scratches during the manufacturing process and as a result, the Zn coating will be easily scraped off by the gears in the drums.
