How to Use a Roof Curving Machine

A roof curving machine is a simple device work with the roof panel roll forming machine, it can make the bullnose or the arch building on the metal roof panel. For smaller arches or domes, you can use a sighting line to determine the approximate radius of the curve. This can be made from a plumb-line with a central hole through the top of the square at the bottom of the weight, or by driving one small finishing nail in a block of wood about 2 cm deep and checking that the distance between this block and the wall is equal to half the length of the square’s side.

However, you should not curve a polycarbonate sheet beyond its tensile strength, as this will cause residual stress that could break the material under high impact conditions. To avoid this, it is recommended that you should only cold-curve items that will be used under low impact circumstances. This will ensure that the polycarbonate will retain its structural integrity. For larger arches or domes, you will need to use a more sophisticated curve bending machine that can apply the curved shape over a large area.
