How a Container Sheet Machine Works

A container sheet machine can be a useful tool for transforming blank containers into finished sheets. It can work by rotating a container's front face in any direction without the container itself rotating. By changing the rotation speed of the support arm, the machine can change the orientation of the container. For example, a container facing south will now face west. Here's how this is done. After the container has been turned, it is positioned in front of the machine.

The container sheet machine comprises a mandrel 101 that is inserted into a blank by a guide 107. The mandrel then travels around the track to align with the next blank. Once the process is complete, the mandrel is removed from the machine. Then the containers are conveyed away. This method can be repeated countless times. The machine can produce multiple sided containers per minute.

After a dunnage sheet has been removed, the stack of blanks moves forward into a lifting area 95. The uppermost blank is then removed from the top of the stack and fed into the primary conveyors 22 in a conventional way. Once the stack has been created, the machine then removes the uppermost blank. During the process, the lowermost blank is shaped. The remaining blanks are then fed into the secondary conveyors 22 in a conventional manner.

Another aspect of the present invention is a container sheet machine that forms multiple-panel containers from a single blank. The machine includes a dunnage system for removing unwanted slip sheets and a first and last panel alignment section. After the first and last panels have been aligned, the machine can rotate a portion of the container and complete the process. The machine also includes an adjustable path for the final container formation section. This is a particularly useful feature in areas with limited floor space.

When the partially-formed container blanks are folded into a container, there are several issues to consider. The first is alignment and adhesion. Because the panels are not all 90 degrees, it's difficult to align them correctly. Additionally, it's difficult to form the bottom portion of the container if the corners aren't 90 degrees. A container sheet machine that complies with this requirement offers improved throughput and flexibility.

Secondary conveyors are provided on either side of the primary conveyors 22. These conveyors are equipped with adjustably-positioned cleats 42, which engage with the up-folded side panels of the blank. Secondary conveyors may also be provided as needed to take over the movement of the blank after it passes the primary conveyors. This ensures that the blanks reach their intended destinations on time. Once finished, the machine can produce containers of any shape and size.
