The Highway Guardrail forming machine is a very important piece of machinery in the highway maintenance sector. It produces different types of crash barriers or guard rails of various shapes and thicknesses to make the roads safer for everyone. It also prevents certain kinds of accidents on the road.

This machine is a heavy duty roll forming machine that can be used to produce steel guardrails and crash barriers in high quantity. It can be a very cost-efficient solution for highway guardrail production.

The highway guardrail forming machine is the most commonly used type of machinery in the industry. It is designed to produce the different shapes of guardrails and crash barriers in a very efficient way. It is very cost-effective and can be used to produce a large number of guardrails in one machine.

When damage occurs in the terminals of a run of guardrail, the terminals should be replaced with NCHRP 350 approved terminals (see Appendix A). They may be new, used, or salvaged, depending on the needs of the repair. The new terminals should be positioned and installed as per the MUTCD and highway agency policy.

For non-buried terminals, retroreflective object (hazard) markers should be installed on the new end treatment. These delineators provide traffic control, improve visual sightlines, and alert drivers of the hazard.

The size of the crew should depend on the extent of the work and the power-assisted tools available. A two-person crew should be enough for minor repairs to only a few posts or rail beam sections. When four or more posts are involved or a large number of rail beam sections are replaced, a larger crew should be needed.

During the repair process, be sure to keep track of the parts and materials you used. If possible, use a materials checklist or record keeping system to keep track of what you used, when the work was performed, and how it was completed.

Inspect each section of guardrail for damage before repairing it. Assess the extent of the damage and identify whether or not it impairs the barrier's ability to perform.

If the damage is substantial, consider bringing the entire system up to current agency standard and removing any substandard fixed objects or BR-GR attachments. If this is not feasible, then replace or upgrade the substandard attachments with current Road and Bridge Standard fixed objects and BR-GR attachments.

It is recommended that all repaired guardrail be of the same material as the original (except for height, which is arbitrary). The same material will prevent pocketing or failure of the barrier.
